Barring the hiccup against the Aussies, he was at it again today with a patient innings of 60+ when everyone around him (wearing the blue shirt) seems to be in a great rush to go back to the pavilion.India could manage a respectable (if it was that) total , thanks to Sachin and went on to win the match.
Very interesting to see what happens next now -- the one against Aussies would be a special one with McGrath in pick of things again. I wish Warney was around too -- Sachin especially takes a liking for him :)

Malaika is born

We were blessed with our wonderful daughter on August 31st 2006.

We have named her Malaika.
Malaika is a swahili word which means "angel". Swahili is a language spoken in most parts of Africa, including Tanzania where mommy Rashmi spent her childhood years.
We are excited with this beautiful new addition to our family.
Here is a picture of her:
Right now I have published one article regarding ASP.NET membership and a couple of sql server tricks. Check the site out!

ASP.NET 2.0 rocks!!!

I have been playing a lot with .NET 2.0 lately --especially ASP.NET 2.0. Already like a lot of the newer features like site map,
GridView, Master pages etc. Didn't like the new structure of folders with ASP.NET. Looks like I was not the only one -- Check Scott Guthrie's
blog for the new Web Project Model Option Coming for VS 2005.

The best feature I liked about 2.0 is GENERICS -- I have been trying to create my own version of generics for .NET 1.0/1.1 but still
this will be quite a saver in terms of time, type safety and amount of code written. I liked it so much that I registered a new domain :www.dotnetgenerics.com.
Right now it just points to the current site, but hoping to add a lot more as I learn more about them.

New version of SwanandMokashi.com is coming soon -- completely re-written in ASP.NET 2.0!!! :)

I got tired of receiving spam in the guestbook.
So I have added an image code of 6 digits which the user has to input in a textbox

This is to differentiate between human users and spambots. Hopefully I have seen the last of spam in the guestboook.
If anybody needs code for the above security feature, please feel free to contact me at :info@swanandmokashi.com

Built a new computer

I have finally built a computer for myself. The fish are here!

I have got 6 bloodfin tetras , 4 julii cory catfish and 1 golden mystery snail for the 15 gallon tank at home.

This tank has a new hood with a slightly pinkish light. The pinkish light is bringing out the color of the bloodfins very well .. I am surprised why I never gave bloodfins a thought -they seem wonderful fish !

The julii cories always stay in a group and are cute -- always active and looking for food :):)

Snail is about 1 inch in diameter -- but stays near the plants. This worries me as to the snail eating the plants, otherwise it is very interesting to watch !!

Not sure, why he is not the captain then ? Does this mean, Dravid has replaced Ganguly as the captain permanently ? Who knows? Welcome changes were inclusion of Suresh Raina, the talented young player - the selectors seems to be finally getting ready for the World cup in 2007. However I was disappointed with the exclusion of Dinesh Mongia. Not sure what else can a guy do to get in the team?

Start of BLOG

I was trying to put up my blog on the website for some time now.
